Sanskrit lesson
Antavanta ime dehāḥ: these bodies are end-having
Anta + -vant: bodies are literally "end-having." Then a chain of genitives for the owner — nityasya, anāśinaḥ, aprameyasya, of the lasting, the unperishing, the immeasurable. Uktāḥ, "it is said," marks received teaching, not a fresh boast. Tasmād yudhyasva: therefore fight. The metaphysics has been given a practical "so."
Vedas & Upanishads
Uktāḥ: marked as something already heard
When the Gita says uktāḥ, it is pointing back toward śruti. Katha and the Īśā have already split the finite body from the immeasurable embodied one; Mundaka's two birds sit on one tree, one eating, one watching. "These bodies end; the wearer does not" is offered as overheard, not invented between the armies.

A soul carrying a corpse
Marcus Aurelius, Meditations
Marcus reminds himself he is "a soul carrying a corpse." Verse 18 is less harsh and more exact: the bodies are end-having; what has them is not. Both use the inventory of a mortal frame to locate something that is not on the inventory. Then Marcus returns to duty, and so does this line — yudhyasva.
